John “JB” Beyer
Operating Advisor
JB is a Deal Partner and special advisor to Tuckerman on portfolio initiatives and new investments related to industrial and environmental sustainability. He is also the founder of Sagebrush Capital, an operationally oriented boutique investment and advisory firm focused on partnering with small businesses in the forestry, water, and ecosystem resilience markets.
Prior to Tuckerman and Sagebrush, JB managed corporate strategic initiatives for Backcountry.com, a portfolio company of TSG Consumer Partners, where he led operational improvement, strategic planning, and acquisition efforts. Prior to Backcountry, JB was an Associate at an operationally intensive middle-market private equity fund. JB guided a range of portfolio performance improvement efforts and executed investments in the environmental services, energy, industrial services, and manufacturing sectors. JB began his career at Robert W. Baird, where he advised on M&A transactions as part of the investment banking division’s industrials team.
JB holds a BS from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, where he concentrated in Accounting and Finance, and received an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar. JB is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time outside taking advantage of the many natural resources of Northern New England and is on the Board of the Upper Valley Trails Alliance.
